     NEW ORLEANS — Older brother made sure Xavier University
 of Louisiana's men's tennis home winning streak remained intact.
 
      
Sebastian Perez, playing No. 6 singles, clinched the Gold Rush's
  4-3 victory against NAIA No. 13 Mobile with a 6-4, 6-3 victory Saturday against Aoi Kambara. 
	The Gold Rush (3-1), ranked second in the NAIA, have won 11 straight at XULA Tennis Center in a streak that started in 2018.
	
	     Perez's victory gave XULA a 4-2 advantage after leading 3-0.
	In the final completed match, 
Santiago Perez — Sebastian's younger brother by about 14 months and the
	 NAIA's third-ranked singles player — lost 7-5, 7-5 on court one to unranked Artem Vasheshnikov.
	 
	      
Juan Batalla and 
Samir Chikhaoui clinched the doubles point with
	  a 6-3 victory against Kambara and Guido Evangelista. Perez and 
Shaikh Abdullah won five of the first six
		 games in a 6-3 decision against Vasheshnikov and Boris Klingebiel.
		 
		      Batalla beat Klingebiel 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, and
		  Abdullah won 6-1, 6-4 against Evangelista on court three.
	 
	 	     It was Mobile's opener.
		
			     Next for the Gold Rush will be a trip to Hattiesburg, Miss.,
			 to play NAIA No. 4 William Carey at 1 p.m. Feb. 24 — the day before Mardi Gras. The next home match will start at 9 a.m.
			  March 7 against No. 25 Lewis-Clark State.
