No. 2 Gold Rush extend NAIA-leading top-25 streak to 106 polls

     NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana men's tennis remained No. 2 Wednesday in the third NAIA coaches poll of the season. The top nine teams are the same as two weeks ago.
     It's the 76th consecutive top-10 appearance for the Gold Rush (3-1). XULA began that streak May 3, 2011. The Gold Rush ranked eighth or higher in the last 48 polls; that streak began May 21, 2014.
     This week XULA will travel to central Louisiana for four matches in three days, including Texas A&M-Texarkana at 2 p.m. Thursday in Alexandria. The Eagles are among "others receiving votes" for the second consecutive poll.
     XULA's top-25 appearance is its 106th in a row, the longest active streak in NAIA men's tennis.
     Five-time defending national champion Georgia Gwinnett is a unanimous No. 1 for the 48th consecutive time.
     The next rankings will be announced March 11.
     The Gold Rush active poll streaks:
     •  106 consecutive appearances in the top 25 . . . streak began April 4, 2007.
     •  97 consecutive appearances in the top 20 . . . streak began April 30, 2008.
     •  82 consecutive appearances in the top 15 . . . streak began Feb. 1, 2011.
     •  76 consecutive appearances in the top 10 . . . streak began May 3, 2011.
