Men's results vs. Louisiana College
ALEXANDRIA, La. — Both Xavier University of Louisiana
tennis teams improved to 3-0 Friday at the LSUA Tournament.
XULA's men, ranked second in the NAIA, defeated Texas Wesleyan and Louisiana College
7-0 apiece. The women, ranked third, beat Texas Wesleyan 6-1.
Both XULA teams are 6-1 this season. It's the
best start for the men since winning eight of their first nine in 2015.
The men will play their final match of this tournament st 9 a.m.
against John Brown at Alexandria City Courts. The women will play John Brown at noon
at the same venue, then travel to LSUA for a 3 p.m. match with the 12th-ranked Generals.
Sebastian Perez,
Guillermo Coiras and
Farah Baklouti clinched
the duals with singles victories. Coiras defeated Texas Wesleyan's Adam White 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6,
Perez beat Louisiana College's Cameron Weidner 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5, and Baklouti defeated Kara Antonio 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3.
The Gold Rush against Louisiana College won 7-of-9 matches without losing a game.
The Gold Nuggets and LSUA will meet for the second time in 14 days. XULA won 4-3 at home Feb. 16.
