        CANTON, Ga. — Montreat's Luigi Moretti rallied for a 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-5) victory against Juan Varon on the fourth singles court to give the Cavaliers a 4-3 victory Friday against NAIA No. 2 Xavier University of Louisiana.
        Both teams are 1-1. Montreat was among "others receiving votes" in this week's coaches poll and was 28th overall.
        Moretti fought off three match points in the 10th game of the second set.
        XULA lost the doubles point after having two match points on the third court. The top of XULA's singles lineup was stellar, however, with Santiago Perez, Juan Ramirez and Shaikh Abdullah winning in straight sets. Ramirez won 6-0, 6-0 against Taketoshi Nanao, and Perez won 6-1, 6-0 against Adam Nagoudi. Abdullah defeated Mohamed Anouar Braham 7-6 (7-3), 6-2.
        Ramirez and Varon won 6-1 at No. 2 doubles against Ryan Little and Nanao.
        XULA will return to Canton's BridgeMill Athletic Club Saturday for 1 p.m. EST match against NAIA No. 6 Reinhardt.
