        NEW ORLEANS — For the second time in 12
 days, the men of NAIA power Xavier University of Louisiana have defeated Nicholls of NCAA Division I.
 
         This time it was 4-1 on a cool and breezy
  — 18 mph winds from the north — Thursday afternoon at XULA Tennis Center. 
	XULA — 7-8 and ranked 11th in the NAIA — has won its last six meetings with Nicholls.
	
	        XULA won the doubles point and 3-of-4 in singles. Freshman 
Jered Wilson
	  clinched for the second time this season when he defeated Prasanna Pravin Bagade  6-3, 6-4 on court six.
		
		        
Santiago Perez and 
Shaikh Abdullah won in doubles and singles.
		Perez and his brother, 
Sebastian Perez, clinched in doubles with their 6-2 victory against
		 Piyush Surendra Salekar and Ricardo de Sales Chaves Machado.
		
		        Abdullah and 
Megh Patel won 6-3 against Antonio Sasso and 
		Griffin Babineaux at No. 2 doubles, and Abdullah won 6-0, 6-1 against Surendra Salekar at No. 2 singles.
		On the first singles court, 
Santiago Perez  beat Pavle Drobnjakovic  7-5, 6-2 after trailing 3-0 in the opening set.
		 
		         "Today was another good performance by the men,"
 XULA head coach 
Alan Green said. "We are turning the corner with this team and the way we are playing now.
  I like how we are playing, and I'm looking forward to the next one."
		 
        Nicholls is 4-7.
 
	
	        XULA, winner at home of its last 16 dual matches and 37 of its last 40,
	 will play host to Rust at noon Saturday.
