        MOBILE, Ala. — Xavier University of Louisiana men's tennis got revenge Friday against William Carey with a 4-1 victory against the Crusaders in the semifinals of the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament.
        William Carey beat XULA 4-3 four weeks earlier. XULA never has lost twice in one season to the Crusaders.
        XULA — 13-9, ranked ninth in the NAIA and seeded third in this tournament — will play Middle Georgia for the championship at 10 a.m. Saturday at Copeland-Cox Mobile Tennis Center (851 Gaillard Drive, zip code 36608, phone 251-208-5181). Admission is free.
        Shaikh Abdullah and Megh Patel clinched the doubles point on the second court with their 6-3 victory against Tom Tillger and Eric Caleguer. Guillermo Coiras ended the dual when he defeated Juan Pulida Pinilla 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) at No. 6 singles.
        Middle Georgia, seeded first in the tournament and ranked fourth in the NAIA, defeated Mobile 4-0 in the other semifinal.
