        MOBILE, Ala. — Mihailo Radosavljevi rallied to defeat
 
Megh Patel 6-7 (5-7), 6-1, 6-1 on the third singles court Wednesday to give Union (Ky.) a 4-3 men's tennis
  victory against Xavier University of Louisiana in the round of 16 at the NAIA National Championship
	tournament.
	
        XULA (13-11), ranked sixth in the coaches poll and seeded seventh,  
 made its earliest exit in this tournament in 10 years. XULA was the national runner-up in 2016, 2017 and 2019, 
 a semifinalist in 2018 and a quarterfinalist four straight years from 2012-15.
 
         XULA lost the doubles point but took a 3-1 lead
  after 
Santiago Perez, 
Shaikh Abdullah and 
Guillermo Coiras earned straight-sets singles victories.
	
	        The Bulldogs (10-7) avenged a 4-2 loss to XULA at
	 the IWU Invitational April 9.
	 
	         It was a roller-coaster season for XULA, which was
	  No. 2 in the preseason rankings, fell from the top 10 in mid-March after 80 consecutive appearances dating to 2011,
		 then rebounded with a pair of victories against NCAA Division I Nicholls and four more against
		 ranked NAIA teams, three in the top eight.
		         It was XULA's fifth 4-3 loss of the season.
