        SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Xavier University of Louisiana's India Mastin ran 5,000 meters in a season-best 19 minutes, 50.4 seconds Friday morning to finish fifth in the women's division of the Red River Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships.
        Mastin, a junior in her first year at XULA, earned her school's only at-large bid to NAIA nationals Nov. 18 at Tallahassee, Fla.
        The Gold Nuggets scored 94 points to finish third out of six teams. Our Lady of the Lake repeated as team champion with 29 points, and the Saints' Nadia Sifuentes won in 19:00.8 to repeat as individual champion.
        Also competing for XULA were Amber Parks (21st place, 22:52.8), Jalyn Jenkins (23rd, 23:52.7), Reagan Collins (26th, 25:19.1) and Janell Nixon (30th, 26:29.0).
