Xavier University of Louisiana defeated Lindsey Wilson 4-1 Saturday in a matchup of top-10 NAIA
men's tennis teams at Grizzly Invitational #2.
XULA is ranked 10th, and Lindsey Wilson is fourth.
Santiago Perez and
Jacobi Bain won in doubles and singles for the Gold Rush.
Bain and
Megh Patel clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 victory against Tiago Almeida and Steven Espinoza,
and Perez clinched the dual with his 6-2, 6-3, No. 1 singles victory against Joppe van Malderen.
Guillermo Coiras also won in singles for XULA,
which will play top-ranked and seven-time defending NAIA champion Georgia Gwinnett at 10 a.m. EST Sunday.
