TOUGALOO, Miss. — Xavier University of Louisiana defeated Tougaloo 12-3, then 14-3 in a baseball doubleheader Thursday.
        The Gold Rush (8-10) ended a season-high four-game losing streak and scored in double figures for the third and fourth times this season.
        Tougaloo is 4-17 and has lost eight in a row.
        XULA will play host to Southwest (N.M.) in a three-game Red River Athletic Conference series this weekend at Wesley Barrow Stadium: first game at noon Saturday, then a doubleheader at noon Sunday. Southwest is 9-0 in the RRAC and leads by a game over LSU-Shreveport and Louisiana Christian. XULA is 3-6 in conference and in eighth place out of 12 teams.
