        MARSHALL, Texas — Xavier University of Louisiana baseball completed a three-game Red River Athletic Conference sweep of Wiley with 11-1 and 16-8 victories Saturday.
        The Gold Rush outscored the Wildcats 42-11 in the series, and XULA (11-13 overall, 7-8 RRAC) extended its winning streak to a season-high four games.
        Co Co Simoneaux went 3-for-4 in both games and was 9-for-13 in the series with eight runs. Mark Herron homered twice and reached base safely five times in the second game. Zachary Elias was 5-for-9 in the doubleheader with three doubles and four RBIs. Jeremy Moore homered and had four RBIs in the opener. Trae Hall had three RBIs in the second game.
        Winning pitchers were Nigel Mayfield (six innings, no earned runs) in the first game and Joseph Semien (six innings, one run, nine strikeouts) in the second.
        Next for XULA will be a three-game series Friday and Saturday at LSU-Alexandria, the RRAC's second-place team.
