 Xavier University of Louisiana's 
Santiago Perez, No. 1 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association 
  NAIA men's singles rankings, defeated West Florida's nationally ranked Juan Cabrera 7-6 (7-2), 6-4. 
	 But the Argonauts defeated the Gold Rush 6-1 Saturday.
	 
        Cabrera is ranked 23rd among NCAA Division II singles players.
 
        XULA's only other victory was at No. 2 doubles, 
 where 
Jacobi Bain and 
Megh Patel defeated Salvador Bandeira and Lluis Miralles Miro 6-1.
 
         XULA, ranked fifth in the NAIA, is 11-5, and West Florida, 
  ranked 12th in NCAA Division II, is 9-2, 6-0 at home.
 
	
	        Next for the Gold Rush will be a 2:30 p.m. 
	 Monday visit to the University of New Orleans of NCAA Division I.
