ALEXANDRIA, La. — LSU-Alexandria defeated Xavier University of Louisiana twice by walk-off plays to complete a three-game Red River Athletic Conference baseball sweep Saturday.
The Generals won 4-3 in the seven-inning first game after trailing 3-1, then swept the doubleheader by winning 11-9 after trailing 7-3 and 9-7.

Deionte Norris and
Zachary Elias gave the Gold Rush a 3-1 lead in the sixth inning of the opener, but the Generals scored the final three runs, all unearned. Pinch runner Jack Whitaker scored the winning run after a bunt single and an error.
Co Co Simoneaux had five RBIs for the Gold Rush in the second game, including a three-run double in the fifth that gave XULA its first lead, 4-3. It was a six-run fifth inning for XULA, which also scored on an error and Norris' and
Matt Muhleisen's RBI singles.
Peyton Marcantel's RBI double for LSUA capped a three-run seventh and tied the score at 7, then XULA led 9-7 in the eighth on Elias' run-scoring double and Simoneaux's RBI single.
LSUA closed the doubleheader with two-run homers in the eighth and ninth — by Ivan Prejean to tie the score, then by Jordan Ardoin for the victory. Prejean and Ardoin were a combined 6-for-9 in the second game with seven RBIs.
Muhleisen, a former LSUA player, was 5-for-8 in the doubleheader, and Norris had two hits in each game.
LSUA is 17-9 overall and in second place in the RRAC at 15-3. XULA is 11-16 and in the eighth place in the RRAC at 7-11. The Gold Rush are a combined 1-8 against the RRAC's three top teams: LSU-Shreveport, LSUA and Southwest.
Next for the Gold Rush will be a three-game RRAC home series against winless Texas College at Wesley Barrow Stadium: 5 p.m. Friday, then a noon Saturday doubleheader.
