XULA is 16-5 — the Gold Rush have won 25 straight at home dating to 2018 — and William Carey is 8-4. It was the regular-season finale for the XULA men, who will compete April 21-23 in an NAIA unaffiliated group tournament at Springfield, Mo..
"It was a great win for the Rush on a special day, senior day," XULA head coach
Alan Green said. "Our top half of lineup really carried us. Juan David Ramirez played huge, flipping the score on the same guy who got him last time. Juan David played like a man on a mission from the very first point to the last."
XULA earned its first victory against a top-10 opponent in 2011. Beating Carey upped the Gold Rush total to 38 in 12 seasons.
