        LORMAN, Miss. — Jacobi Bain defeated Luka Rodic 7-5, 6-4 on the third singles court Friday to clinch Xavier University of Louisiana's 4-1 men's tennis victory at Alcorn State.
        The Gold Rush, 14-5 and ranked fifth in the NAIA, defeated an NCAA Division I opponent on the road for the second time this season.
        Bain and Megh Patel clinched the doubles point on court two with their 6-3 victory against Rodic and Luka Andonov. Also winning in singles for the Rush were Santiago Perez and Guillermo Coiras.
        Overall XULA has won three straight and seven of its last eight dual matches. Alcorn is 3-11.
        XULA will stay on the road and visit another Division I opponent, Jackson State, at noon Saturday.
