HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Xavier University of Louisiana's season-opening baseball doubleheader at Oakwood was rained out Sunday.
        XULA head coach Adrian Holloway said the games will be rescheduled, but a new date has not been selected.
        Next for the Gold Rush will be the home opener: a noon doubleheader Sunday, Feb. 5 against Tougaloo at Wesley Barrow Stadium (6500 Press Drive, zip 70126 — facility is about five miles as the crow flies from XULA). Admission to all XULA home games can be purchased online only through xulatix.universitytickets.com . Cash and credit cards are not accepted at the Wesley Barrow entrance.
        Tougaloo will be part of a nine-game homestand that will include three-game series with city rival Dillard Feb. 10-11 — the Bleu Devils are playing varsity baseball for the first time — and the Red River Athletic Conference opener with Louisiana Christian Feb. 17-18.
