Box score

LONGVIEW, Texas — Xavier University of Louisiana men's soccer earned its fifth shutout victory in the last six games, a 2-0 Red River Athletic Conference decision Thursday against Texas College.
The Gold Rush (7-1 overall, 6-0 RRAC) have won seven straight. XULA will stay on the road and visit RRAC opponent Jarvis Christian at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
XULA got goals from Leonardo Menzen and Caleb Evans, and winning goalkeeper Francisco Pinochet played all 90 minutes, facing three shots and one shot on goal. The shutout victory was XULA's second on the road.
Menzen scored in the 29th minute, and XULA led 1-0 at halftime. Evans scored in the 65th minute with an assist from Nicolas Kuwae.
Joining Evans, Menzen and Pinochet in XULA's starting lineup were Juan Braz, Eduardo dos Santos, Julio Gruba, Gustavo Oliveira, Sebastian Pinto, Fabricio Reis, Savo Sretenovic and Caio Tascheto.
XULA shares first place in the RRAC with Louisiana Christian, a 4-0 winner at Texas A&M-Texarkana.
Texas College (0-7, 0-6) was shut out for the fourth consecutive game.
Coupled with the Gold Nuggets' 16-0 victory against Texas College, it's the second time this season that both XULA teams won by shutout the same day — the first time on the road. This is XULA's first season of varsity soccer.
