Coaches poll of Feb. 15, 2023
NEW ORLEANS —
For the seventh consecutive time, Xavier University of Louisiana is No. 5
in the NAIA men's tennis coaches poll. The NAIA announced Wednesday the rankings.
The Gold Rush are 3-1
with an active three-match win streak that includes a victory against
a ranked opponent, Lindsey Wilson.
The Gold Rush are:
• In the top 25 for the 125th consecutive time —
the longest active streak in NAIA men's tennis. That streak began April 4, 2007.
• In the top 20 for the 116th consecutive time.
• In the top 15 for the 111th consecutive time.
• In the top 10 for the 12th consecutive time
and the 95th time in the last 98 polls.
• In the top five for the seventh consecutive time.
The last time the XULA men were lower than 11th was Feb. 22, 2011, when they were 14th.
Next for XULA will be
four matches in the Grizzly Invitational at Lawrenceville, Ga.:
Friday at 1 p.m. against No. 12 Cumberland and 4 p.m. against Lewis-Clark State,
1 p.m. Saturday against No. 2 Georgia Gwinnett and
10 a.m. Sunday against No. 8 Lindsey Wilson. Times are Eastern.
Lewis-Clark was added Tuesday to the schedule.
Keiser ended Georgia Gwinnett's streak of 66 consecutive appearances at No. 1.
Keiser defeated Georgia Gwinnett 4-3 Feb. 5 in the title round of the
ITA NAIA National Indoor Championships at Overland Park, Kan. The Grizzlies
were a unanimous No. 1 in all 66 polls; that streak started May 21, 2014.

March 8, 22 and 29 and April 12 and 26.
