Gold Rush drop three spots to No. 8

Coaches poll of March 8, 2023

        NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana dropped from No. 5 to No. 8 Wednesday in the NAIA men's tennis coaches poll.
        Nevertheless, the Gold Rush (10-3) are in the top 10 for the 13th consecutive time and the 96th time in the last 99 polls.
        The Gold Rush also are:
        •  In the top 25 for the 126th consecutive time — the longest active streak in NAIA men's tennis. That streak began April 4, 2007.
        •  In the top 20 for the 117th consecutive time.
        •  In the top 15 for the 112th consecutive time.
        Next for XULA will be matches in Mobile, Ala.: noon Saturday against NAIA No. 13 Ave Maria at Cottage Hill Tennis Center and 10 a.m. Sunday against NAIA No. 5 Southeastern (Fla.) at Copeland-Cox Mobile Tennis Center. Times are Central.
        The other poll dates this season: March 22 and 29 and April 12 and 26.
