Gold Rush adjust home schedule; 5 p.m. doubleheader Friday will open RRAC series with Eagles

        NEW ORLEANS — Rain is in the forecast for Saturday, and as a result Xavier University of Louisiana baseball adjusted its three-game Red River Athletic Conference home series against Texas A&M-Texarkana at Wesley Barrow Stadium.
        Instead of one game Friday, the Gold Rush (15-16 overall, 7-14 RRAC) and Eagles (18-18, 12-9) will play a doubleheader at 5 p.m. CDT. The third game will start at 2 p.m. Saturday.
        Here's what the National Weather Service is predicting as of Thursday:
        Saturday:  Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly after 8 a.m. High near 77. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
        Saturday night:  Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 8 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 a.m. Low around 66. Southeast wind around 10 mph becoming southwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
        Sunday:  Showers and thunderstorms likely before 11 a.m., then a slight chance of showers between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
