       CLINTON, Miss. —
Lejaune George of Xavier University of Louisiana men's cross country produced another first-for-his-team finish Friday in the Watson Collegiate Classic at Choctaw Trails.
       George ran 8,000 meters in 29 minutes, 59.2 seconds and has been the fastest finisher for the Gold Rush 15 times in 16 career meets, including the last 10. George was 182nd out of 227 runners overall.
       Also competing for the Gold Rush were
Jayden Bratton, 192nd in 31:00.1;
Collin Wright, 201st in 31:41.0;
Ovane Williams, 214th in 36:18.4;
David Morris, 215th in 38:40.6; and
Landan Gillespie, 216th in 38:44.8.
       XULA scored 650 points to place 21st out of 21 teams and 17th out of 17 four-year colleges. Texas A&M-Commerce was first with 31 points, and host Mississippi College was second with 41.
       Mississippi College's Braedon Methvin won in 24:37.0.
       Next for XULA will be the Red River Athletic Conference Championships Nov. 2 in the San Antonio suburb of Windcrest, Texas. The men will run 8,000 meters, and the race will start at 9:15 a.m.
