WINDCREST, Texas — Xavier University of Louisiana's
Lejaune George placed 22nd out of 39 runners Friday in the men's division of the Red River Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships at Windcrest Golf Course.
George ran 8,000 meters in 30 minutes, 55.6 seconds and has been the fastest Gold Rush finisher 16 times in 17 career meets, including the last 11.
Also competing for the Gold Rush were
Skyler Madison, 25th in 31:18.9;
Collin Wright, 27th in 31:40.2;
Jayden Bratton, 31st in 33:44.5; and
Landan Gillespie, 33rd in 34:31.8.
XULA scored 103 points to place fourth out of five teams. Host Our Lady of the Lake scored 24 points to repeat as team champion, and Texas A&M-Texarkana was second with 43.
TAMUT's Shea Johnson won in 26:01.0.
