LAFAYETTE, La. — Xavier University of Louisiana's
Nereo Suarez won two consolation matches Sunday on the final day of the Cajuns Classic men's tennis tournament.
Suarez and
Manuel Arias won 6-1 in doubles against Rasmus Becker and Pasawee Reansuwong of Southern Miss. In singles, Suarez defeated Saheb Sodhi of Southern Miss 6-1, retired.
XULA, ranked fifth in the NAIA coaches poll, was the only non-NCAA Division I team competing.
This was XULA's final fall competition. Next will be dual matches during the spring semester. The XULA women will play Jan. 31-Feb. 2 in the ITA NAIA National Indoor Championships at Overland Park, Kan. XULA head coach
