Xavier University of Louisiana hit four home runs and
completed a three-game baseball sweep of Tougaloo with a 16-11 victory Saturday.
Alex Crews,
Deionte Norris,
Miles Peterson and
Calabe Collins homered for the Gold Rush.
Peterson and Norris homered during XULA's eight-run sixth inning.
XULA produced 16 hits,
three apiece by Crews and Peterson.
Dillon Cousin doubled twice, and Peterson
had four RBIs, three on his home run. Norris had three RBIs, and
Crews,
Bennie Spady and Zion Morris had two RBIs apiece.
For Tougaloo (0-3), Landon Williams had
two hits and three RBIs.
It was the second straight season that
XULA opened with a three-game sweep of the Bulldogs.
Next for XULA will be a 7 p.m. Tuesday game against city rival
Loyola at Segnette Field in Westwego, La.
