NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana announced Friday that it moved its Red River Athletic Conference baseball three-game series with Southwest (N.M.) to Segnette Field in Westwego, La.
        A rain-soaked field at the original venue, Kirsch-Rooney Stadium in New Orleans, prompted the venue change.
        The Gold Rush and Mustangs will open at 7 p.m. CDT Saturday, then play a 1 p.m. Sunday doubleheader. Admission is free. Segnette Field is 10 miles from the XULA campus at 2000 Segnette Blvd., Westwego LA 70094.
        XULA is 8-14 overall and 3-11 in the RRAC. Southwest is 14-14 and 5-7.
