        ALEXANDRIA, La. — 
 Xavier University of Louisiana men's tennis defeated Texas A&M-Texarkana
  4-1 Saturday to finish 3-0 at the LSUA Tournament.
	
        The win streak of the Gold Rush
 — 12-9 and ranked 10th in the NAIA coaches poll — is a season-high four matches.
 
         
Dedric Ray clinched for XULA on court four  
  with his 7-5, 7-5 victory against Felipe de la Carrera.
	 Ray was the only Gold Rush player to go 3-0 in singles at this event.
	 
        
Julius Hell and 
VanDer Woody clinched
 the doubles point for XULA with a 6-4 victory against Mauricio Trevino Velasco 
 and Andrew Otzenberger. Ray and 
Jacobi Bain defeated de la Carrera and Sebastian Ramanos 6-3.
 
 
        Bain, Hell and Woody all were 3-0 in doubles at this tournament.
        Earning XULA's other singles victories
 were Hell, 6-4 6-2 against Trevino, and 
Ivan Vazquez, 6-3, 6-1 against Ramanos.
 
        The Eagles (11-9) finished 1-2 at the tournament.
 
         Next for the Gold Rush will be the regular-season finale:
  noon Saturday at XULA Tennis Center against NAIA No. 7 William Carey. Ray and 
Jered Wilson
	will be honored in a prematch senior-day ceremony.
	
        XULA will play host to an NAIA unaffiliated group qualifying 
 tournament April 18-20. That winner will earn an automatic bid to NAIA nationals May 14-18 at Mobile, Ala.
