       PENSACOLA, Fla. —
Nereo Suarez and
Jacobi Bain won in doubles and singles Sunday to help Xavier University of Louisiana produce a 4-2 men's tennis neutral-site victory against SCAD Savannah.
       It was the second victory of the season for the Gold Rush (5-6) against a top-15 opponent. XULA is eighth and SCAD Savannah (6-4) 11th in the NAIA coaches poll.
       Suarez and Bain defeated Danil Ozernoy and David Lopez Cruz 6-4 on the first court to clinch the doubles point. In singles, Bain beat Mark Tryakshin 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2, and Suarez clinched at No. 1 with his 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 victory against Ozernoy.
       XULA's
Ivan Vazquez and Gabriel Velez defeated Tryakshin and Diego Fernandez 6-4 at No. 2 doubles, and Tomas Giangrasso gave the Gold Rush a 3-1 lead when he won 6-4, 7-6 (7-1) against Patricio Medrano at No. 5.
       Next the Gold Rush and Gold Nuggets will compete four consecutive days at XULA Tennis Center (3619 Pine St., zip 70125, free admission). That schedule:
