NAIA No. 7 Xavier University of Louisiana men's tennis defeated Campbellsville 6-1
Saturday to earn its second road victory in three days.
Jacobi Bain,
Tomas Giangrasso, Pedro Maggi,
Ivan Vazquez and Gabriel Velez won in doubles snd singles
for the Gold Rush (4-5). Bain clinched on the first
singles court with his 6-1, 6-1 victory against Manuel Pinheiro.
Vazquez defeated Juan Ochoa 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3,
Giangrasso won 6-0, 6-4 at No. 4 against Michael Harding,
Velez defeated Noah Grossmann 6-2, 6-4 at No. 5,
and Maggi beat Alvaro Agullo 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6.
Velez and
Nereo Suarez clinched
the doubles point with a 6-1 decision against Harding and Grossmann at No. 2.
The Gold Rush swept the doubles; Bain and Vazquez beat Pinheiro and Sebastian Toledo 6-3 at No. 1,
and Giangrasso and Maggi won 6-0 at No. 3 against Agullo and Ochoa.
Campbellsville is 0-4.
