NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana's Amira Bergaoui is the Red River Athletic Conference Player of the Week in women's tennis for March 24-30.
        The RRAC announced Tuesday the award, Bergaoui's second this season and the fourth of her career.
        Bergaoui — a sophomore from Tunis, Tunisia, and No. 11 in the ITA NAIA singles rankings and 45th in doubles — was 2-0 in singles and, with Ana Vasilis, 2-0 in doubles at the LSUA Tournament. Bergaoui won 6-1, 6-3 against LSUA's 26th-ranked Kanu Rajawat.
        The Gold Nuggets' Friday match at city rival Dillard was postponed, but the XULA and DU men will meet at 2 p.m. Next for the XULA women will be an April 12 noon home match against NAIA No. 5 William Carey. The Gold Nuggets are 11th.
