        ROME, Ga. — Xavier University of Louisiana's 
 
Angela Charles-Alfred and 
Lailaa Bashir repeated as ITA Cup NAIA doubles champion
  with a 3-6, 7-6 (7-5) 6-4 victory against Georgia Gwinnett's second-seeded Maria Genovese amd Eva Siska.
	
	        Earlier Sunday, Bashir lost 6-2, 7-6 (7-0) to top-seeded Genovese
	 in the singles final.
	 
	         The doubles victory was the 17th in a row for Charles-Alfred
	 and Bashir, both left-handers. They beat Genovese in the ITA Cup NAIA final for the second straight year.
	 In 2019 Charles-Alfred and Bashir trailed 4-1 before winning 6-4, 6-4 victory against 
	  Genovese and Madeline Bosnjak.
		
		        Bashir, a sophomore, is 14-1 this fall, winning all seven of her doubles
		 matches and 7-of-8 singles matches. Her two-season XULA combined record is 60-5.
 
		 
		         Bashir also earned the ITA Cup's James O'Hara Sargent Sportsmanship Award,  
		 which is given to singles main-draw finalists who display outstanding sportsmanship and exemplify the spirit of college tennis 
		 during the course of the ITA Cup.
		 
		         Genovese was No. 2 in the end-of-season ITA singles rankings
		  of 2019-20, but in doubles she's 0-3 in her career against Charles-Alfred and Bashir. Genovese and Bosnjak
			 also lost to Charles-Alfred and Bashir in a 2019 ITA regional final.
