Nuggets open spring semester with 6-1 home victory against 12th-ranked Loyola (N.O.)

     NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana women's tennis, No. 3 in the NAIA and 25-4 the past two seasons against ranked teams, opened its 2020 schedule Saturday with a 6-1 home victory against 12th-ranked city rival Loyola.
     Angela Charles-Alfred, Lailaa Bashir and Angelica De Vincenzis won in doubles and singles for the Gold Nuggets. Farah Baklouti and Yi Chen Pao won in singles, and De Vincenzis earned her doubles victory with Lacee Ancar.
     XULA's women and men will play host to Mississippi College of NCAA Division II at noon Saturday.
