MOBILE, Ala. — Xavier University of Louisiana got strong performances from the top and bottom of the singles lineup Thursday in a 5-0 Southern States Athletic Conference women's tennis victory against Mobile.

XULA is 52-0 in dual matches during the last 10 seasons — 5-0 this year — when its No. 5 and 6 singles players win on the court.
Bashir snapped her three-match losing streak in singles by beating Sofija Hrovat 6-1, 6-1. Charles-Alfred defeated Emily John 6-0, 6-1.
De Vincenzis and Largacha defeated Emily John and Claire Travis 6-1 to clinch the doubles point. Farah Baklouti and Kyra Akinnibi won 6-0 against Paula John and Melody Holcomb; it was the third consecutive victory for Baklouti and Akinnibi without dropping a game.
It was the first of four SSAC matches in three days for XULA, which will play Friday against Blue Mountain at 10 a.m. and fourth-ranked William Carey at 4 p.m.
