        MOBILE, Ala. — 
 Xavier University of Louisiana got strong performances from the top and bottom
  of the singles lineup Thursday in a 5-0 Southern States Athletic
	 Conference women's tennis victory against Mobile.
	 
	 	         XULA (7-4, 2-0), ranked third in the NAIA,
	  produced its fourth victory this season
		  against a ranked opponent; Mobile (5-2, 0-2) is No. 18.
			
			        XULA got singles victories from 
Lailaa Bashir
			  on the second court, 
Angela Charles-Alfred on the third, 
Valentina Largacha on the fifth
			  and 
Angelica De Vincenzis on the sixth. De Vincenzis clinched with her 6-2, 6-2
				victory against Andrea Sanchez, and Largacha won seconds later in a 6-1, 6-2 decision against Paula John.
				
				        XULA is 52-0 in dual matches during the last 10 seasons —
				5-0 this year — when its No. 5 and 6 singles players win on the court.
				
				        Bashir snapped her three-match losing streak
				 in singles by beating Sofija Hrovat 6-1, 6-1. Charles-Alfred defeated Emily John 6-0, 6-1.
				 
				         De Vincenzis and Largacha defeated Emily John
				  and Claire Travis 6-1 to clinch the doubles point. 
Farah Baklouti and 
Kyra Akinnibi won 6-0
					 against Paula John and Melody Holcomb; it was the third consecutive victory for Baklouti
					  and Akinnibi without dropping a game.
	 
	         It was the first of four SSAC matches in three
	  days for XULA, which will play Friday against Blue Mountain at 10 a.m. and fourth-ranked William Carey at 4 p.m.
