 women's tennis standout 
Angela Charles-Alfred is the Southern States Athletic Conference
  Player of the Week for April 5-11.
	
        Charles-Alfred — a senior from Saint-Pierre, Martinique,
 and  a three-time ITA NAIA All-American — was 4-0 in singles and 4-0 in doubles to help
   XULA win 3-of-4 duals at the IWU Invitational, including victories Saturday against No. 7 Cardinal Stritch 
	 and No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan. Three of Charles-Alfred's victories were against ranked opponents. 
	 In singles Charles-Alfred has won 11 straight and is 14-1 in her last 16 matches.
	 In doubles she won her last 10 in row and is 14-0 in her  last 16 matches.
	 
        Abdullah's doubles partners were 
Lailaa Bashir and 
Farah Baklouti this past week.
	         For the season Charles-Alfred is 16-4 in singles and 22-4 in doubles.
	 She leads the team in singles and doubles winning percentage and in doubles victories.
	 
	         XULA (16-5) will play 
	 at 10 a.m. Friday in the semifinals of the SSAC Tournament at Mobile, Ala.
		 Venue will be Copeland-Cox Mobile Tennis Center, the same site for next month's NAIA nationals. 
		  XULA was the SSAC regular-season champion, the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament and has a first-round bye.
