        MOBILE, Ala. — Xavier University of Louisiana women's tennis sped past Blue Mountain 4-0 Friday in the semifinals of the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament.
        XULA — 17-5, ranked third in the NAIA and seeded first in this tournament — will play William Carey for the championship at 10 a.m. Saturday at Copeland-Cox Mobile Tennis Center (851 Gaillard Drive, zip code 36608, phone 251-208-5181). Admission is free.
        Angela Charles-Alfred and Lailaa Bashir clinched the doubles point on the first court with their 6-0 victory against Annabella Natalini and Amelia Laverdiere. Valentina Largacha ended the dual when she defeated Jess Aylward 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.
        William Carey, seeded second in the tournament and ranked eighth in the NAIA, defeated Middle Georgia 4-0 in the other semifinal.
