XULA rolls past Rust for seventh consecutive victory

        NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana, ranked third in NAIA women's tennis, defeated Rust 7-0 Saturday to win at home for the 12th consecutive time and the 22nd time in its last 23 home matches.
        Overall XULA is 13-4 this season and has won a season-best seven in a row. The XULA women have won 40 of their last 48 dual matches (all venues) dating to Feb. 20, 2019.
        Winning in doubles and singles were Farah Baklouti, Angela Charles-Alfred, Angelica De Vincenzis, Valentina Largacha, Lindsey Dixon and Ariana Stephens. De Vincenzis clinched the dual on the third singles court, and Stephens, a freshman, earned her first victories in college.
        XULA's women and men will play multiple matches next week in Indiana against ranked NAIA opponents. The XULA women's home finale will start at 1 p.m. April 18 against NAIA No. 10 LSU-Alexandria.
