Results

MOBILE, Ala. — Second-seeded Keiser rallied in doubles and singles Friday for a 4-3 women's tennis victory against third-seeded Xavier University of Louisiana in the semifinals of the NAIA National Championship tournament.
The Seahawks (15-1) won the doubles point in a tiebreaker after trailing 5-2 on court three, then rallied from a 3-2 deficit in the dual with three-set singles victories on courts two and three.
Farah Baklouti, Valentina Largacha and Kyra Akinnibi won three-set singles matches for XULA (21-6) — all against ranked opponents. Akinnibi's victory 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 against fourth-ranked Camilla Abatte on court one gave the Gold Nuggets a 3-2 lead.
Largacha, an unranked freshman, rallied to win on her birthday — 0-6, 6-4, 6-2 against 32nd-ranked Sarah Schaerer on court six.
Baklouti delivered XULA's first singles victory, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 on court four against 17th-ranked Maissane Aik.
Keiser's Hannah Lairmore tied the dual at 3 when she defeated Lailaa Bashir 6-3, 5-7, 6-3. Then the Seahawks advanced when Alisha Hussain beat Angela Charles-Alfred 7-6 (7-2), 3-6, 6-3 to end the four-hour, 30-minute competition. Hussain also snapped Charles-Alfred's 15-match win streak.
Charles-Alfred and Bashir, the two-time ITA Cup NAIA doubles champion, improved their win streak to 17 with a 6-3 decision against Hussain and Aik.
Lairmore and Schaerer clinched the doubles point with their 7-6 (7-3) victory against Akinnibi and Baklouti.
It was the sixth time in the last eight nationals that XULA advanced to the semifinals. The Gold Nuggets never have advanced to the final. Keiser, winner of 14 straight since its only loss Feb. 7, reached the final for the third consecutive time.
Top-seeded Georgia Gwinnett — winner of the last four NAIA titles and five of the last six — defeated fourth-seeded Indiana Wesleyan 4-0 in the other semifinal.
