BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Xavier University of Louisiana's
Santerrius Barlow produced the NAIA's second-fastest men's time this season in the 200-meter dash — 21.52 seconds — at the Samford Open indoor track and field meet Saturday.
Barlow's time qualified him for NAIA nationals March 3-5 at Brookings, S.D. In XULA's first meet he qualified for nationals in the 60-meter dash.
Barlow finished second in the 200 and ahead of sprinters from six other NCAA Division I members, including Mississippi State.
Producing XULA's other top-10 finishes were Zoe Cordova in the women's triple jump (seventh place, 10.53 meters/34 feet, 6 3/4 inches) and Kynnedy Turner in the women's 200 (10th, 26.12).
Next for XULA will be the Bayou Bengal meet Feb. 4 at LSU's Carl Maddox Field House in Baton Rouge, La.
