HATTIESBURG, Miss. —
Xavier University of Louisiana softball got the same results Saturday that it did Friday:
a victory against Georgetown (Ky.) and a loss to host William Carey.
In the opener, freshman pitcher Carina Chargois allowed seven hits,
walked two and struck out three in a seven-inning complete game, a 3-1 victory against the Tigers.
Nykirra Taylor's groundout scored
Destyn Jones with the go-ahead run in a two-run second inning.
Tamia Washington singled home pinch runner Kiera Evans with the final run in the fifth.
William Carey, ranked 16th in the NAIA, defeated XULA
10-0 in a game that was called in the sixth inning after Mary Grace Turner's grand slam.
XULA will play host to Mobile in a 3 p.m. Wednesday doubleheader
at the softball facility behind Wesley Barrow Stadium's outfield wall.
