McLin ears All-RRAC first team; Wallace Champion of Character

Wednesday afternoon, the Red River Athletic Conference announced that two members of the Xavier softball team were recognized as part of the 2026 RRAC All-Conference Softball Team.

Freshman infielder Lexi McLin, one of the best underclassmen in the conference, was a first-team selection. This marks the first time since 2024 that the Gold Nuggets have had a player earn first-team all-conference. Prior to McLin, the most recent XULA player to achieve this distinction was Madison Winston

McLin, a native of Loreauville, Louisiana, and a graduate of Loreauville High, was the Gold Nuggets' most consistent offensive player and a strong presence on defense.

In her first collegiate campaign, which is still ongoing, McLin has batted .359 with 52 hits, 15 doubles, 4 triples, and 5 home runs. McLin, who has batted throughout the early portion of the XULA lineup, has scored 28 runs and driven in 38 more.

She boasts a .919 fielding percentage and has stolen 10 bases.

Joining McLin on the All-Conference team was Essynce Wallace, a junior pitcher from Farmerville, La., who was named Xavier's representative on the Champions of Character team. Wallace is a graduate of Union Parish High and is a transfer from Baton Rouge Community College.

The Gold Nuggets have qualified for the 2026 RRAC tournament in Alexandria and will play Texas A&M-Texarkana on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
