Xavier softball utility infielder
Lexi McLin capped her outstanding freshman season by garnering attention on the always-competitive Louisiana Sports Writers Association's All-Louisiana softball team, which is chosen from among all college and university teams in the state.
McLin, who batted .353 with 54 hits, 15 doubles, 4 triples, and 5 home runs, finished tied for third in the Freshman of the Year category. Louisiana-Lafayette's Haley Hart won the award, and Bosssier Parish Community College's Clélia Costes placed second. Louisiana Tech's Bradi Gallaway joined McLin in third place.
LSU's Jalia Lassiter won Hitter of the Year, while Southeastern Louisiana's Hallie Burns won Pitcher of the Year, LSU's Kylee Edwards won Newcomer of the Year, and Southeastern Louisiana's Rick Fremin was named Coach of the Year.
