Bradley's 5 RBIs help XULA sweep Southwest

        NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana defeated Southwest (N.M.) 7-1 and 8-3 Friday at Wesley Barrow for its third Red River Athletic Conference softball sweep this season.
         Mecolett Bradley had five RBIs in the doubleheader: a two-run homer and three sacrifice flies. Brittany Ensley was 5-for-6 overall with a pair of doubles and three RBIs. Alexis Richardson and Chenai Keyes scored three times apiece.
        Winning pitchers Carina Chargois (opener) and Vannity Robles threw complete games. XULA is 13-20 overall and 9-7 in the RRAC; Southwest is 6-19 and 3-11.
        The game-two victory gave the Gold Nuggets a school-record-tying fourth consecutive victory. This is XULA's second season of varsity softball. The Gold Nuggets will attempt to break the record Friday in a 2 p.m. doubleheader in Tyler, Texas, against Texas College.
