        LORMAN, Miss. — Juliette Finch scored Xavier University of Louisiana's only point Friday in a 4-1 women's tennis loss at NCAA Division I Alcorn State.
        Finch, the reigning Red River Athletic Conference Player of the Week, defeated Kimberly Kaome 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. It was Finch's eighth victory in her last nine singles matches.
        Veronica Rodriguez clinched for Alcorn (4-14) with a 6-0, 6-2 decision against Valentina Largacha at No. 5 singles.
        XULA, 11-10 ranked 15th in the NAIA, will stay on the road and visit another DI opponent, Jackson State, at noon Saturday.
