NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana softball will conduct team tryouts next week for current XULA students for the 2022-23 academic year.
        Tryouts will start at 7 p.m. Aug. 23 at the softball facility at Wesley Barrow Stadium (6500 Press Drive, New Orleans LA 70126). That facility is about five miles as the crow flies from XULA, and the softball field is behind baseball's left-field wall.
        Interested students must register by sending an email to assistant coach Donnie Russell at drusse10@xula.edu.
        This is XULA's third season of intercollegiate softball.
