THIBODAUX, La. —
India Mastin led Xavier University of Louisiana women's
cross country for the second time in as many meets this season, running
5,000 meters in 21 minutes, 36.63 seconds Saturday at the Nicholls Invitational.
Mastin placed 24th out of 42 runners.
XULA did not qualify for team scoring
because it had only four entries.
Amber Parks was 31st in 23:46.17,
Jalyn Jenkins was 38th in 25:59.83, and
Reagan Collins was 39th in 26:27.77.
Parks was about 100 seconds faster than she was a year ago in this meet.
Incarnate Word freshman Joy Gill
was first in 16:59.25, nearly 85 seconds faster than runner-up Elsa Rijpstra of Nicholls.
Six teams scored; Incarnate Word won with 27 points, and Nicholls was second with 42.
Next for XULA's women and men will be
the LSU Invitational Friday morning at Baton Rouge, La.
