Lejaune George is the Red River Athletic Conference
Runner of the Week in men's cross country for Sept. 12-18.
George, a freshman from Zachary, La.,
and a graduate of Zachary High School, produced the Gold Rush's fastest four-mile
time in eight years — 22 minutes, 42.37 seconds — Saturday at the Nicholls Invitational in Thibodaux, La.
George finished 27th out of 59 runners.
George's time is No. 14 on XULA's all-time list at this distance.
Next for XULA's men and women will be the LSU Invitational Friday morning at Baton Rouge, La.
The men will run 6,000 meters starting at 8:15, and the women will run 5,000 meters starting at 9.
