NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana's Blake Harris was named Red River Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week in men's field for March 13-19.
        The RRAC announced Tuesday the award.
        Harris — a junior from Missouri City, Texas, and a graduate of Houston's Strake Jesuit High School — won the triple jump Saturday at XULA's first outdoor meet of the season, the Louisiana Classics in Lafayette. Harris' mark of 14,96 meters/49 feet, 1 inch was an A-qualifying mark for NAIA nationals May 24-26 at Marion, Ind.
        Harris was an NAIA All-American in this event during the indoor season after his sixth-place finish at nationals.
        Next for XULA's men and women will be the S0uthern Miss Invitational March 31-April 1 at Hattiesburg, Miss.
