Gold Nuggets move home doubleheader against LCU to 1 p.m. Sunday; LSUA will visit Friday

        NEW ORLEANS — The National Weather Service is predicting an 80-percent chance of rain Saturday, so Xavier University of Louisiana softball moved its Red River Athletic Conference home doubleheader against Louisiana Christian to 1 p.m. CDT Sunday at Wesley Barrow Stadium.
        XULA will resume its eight-game homestand with a 2 p.m. Friday RRAC doubleheader against LSU-Alexandria.
        The Gold Nuggets are 12-20 overall and 4-12 in the RRAC. LSUA is 19-16 and 12-5, and LCU is 19-20 and 9-10.
        Here's the NWS prediction as of Thursday:
        Saturday:  Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly after 8 a.m. High near 77. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
        Saturday night:  Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 8 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 a.m. Low around 66. Southeast wind around 10 mph becoming southwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
        Sunday:  Showers and thunderstorms likely before 11 a.m., then a slight chance of showers between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
