Xavier University of Louisiana's
Seth Alexander was selected Red River Athletic Conference
Athlete of the Week in men's field for March 27-April 2.
The RRAC announced Tuesday the award.
Alexander — a junior from Arnaudville, La.,
a graduate of Breaux Bridge High School and a member of XULA's world-famous College of Pharmacy
— won the triple jump at the Southern Miss Invitational and produced an A-qualifying mark
for NAIA nationals for the second time in as many outdoor meets this season.
Alexander won with a personal-best 15.06 meters/49 feet, 5 inches.
Through meets reported to the Track & Field Results Reporting System
(TFRRS) through Thursday, Alexander is No. 2 on the NAIA 2023 outdoor list in this event.
The leader is Florida Memorial junior Jaylen Coleman with 15.27 meters/50 feet, 1 1/4 inches.
This is Alexander's second career RRAC weekly award and his first this season.
He won the RRAC's final award of 2022.
NAIA nationals will be May 24-26 at Marion, Ind.
Next for XULA's men and women will be Southern University's Pelican Relays
Saturday at Baton Rouge, La. A.W. Mumford Stadium will be the venue.
