NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana men's soccer will play Tuesday its first regular-season game, a 7 p.m. CDT matchup with NAIA No. 9 William Carey at Danny Owens Field in Hattiesburg, Miss.
Admission is free.
The Gold Rush split a pair of exhibitions against two-year opponents, winning 4-0 at home Aug. 13 against Jones and losing 2-0 Aug. 16 at LSU-Eunice.

William Carey, a four-time NAIA national semifinalist, is 1-1-1. The Crusaders lost 2-0 at home Aug. 19 against NCAA Division II West Alabama, played a scoreless tie Aug. 22 at Tennessee Wesleyan and won 2-1 at home Saturday against LSU-Alexandria.
The National Weather Service forecast includes an 80-percent chance of rain, an afternoon high of 90 degrees and a heat index of 98. During the evening the chance of rain is 60 percent.
The second Gold Rush regular-season game will start at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 6 against Spring Hill in Mobile, Ala. Game three will be at home — Lafreniere Park in suburban Metairie, La. — at 3 p.m. Sept. 14 against Southwest (N.M.) in the Red River Athletic Conference opener.
A Sept. 1 home doubleheader against Tougaloo was canceled at Tougaloo's request.
