        ROME, Ga. — Xavier University of Louisiana's Mbali Langa and McKenna Wheatley, the No. 2 NAIA women's doubles seed, won 6-3, 3-6, [10-6] Thursday against Lindsey Wilson's Aina Bernabeu and Mariangeles Mateu in the first round of the ITA Cup Championships.
        Langa and Wheatley will play in the quarterfinals at 4:30 p.m. EDT Friday against Tennessee Wesleyan's Olivia Alcala and Laia Berne.
        In women's singles, XULA's Amira Bergaoui lost 6-0, 6-4 to SCAD Atlanta's second-seeded Shalimar Talbi. Bergaoui will play a consolation match at 1:30 p.m. Friday against Morningside's Line Jensen.
        In men's doubles, XULA's Manuel Arias and Nereo Suarez lost 6-3, 3-6, [10-5] to top-seeded Perry Gregg and Luca McManus of Holy Cross (Ind.) Arias and Suarez will play a consolation match at 4:30 p.m. Friday against Grace's Pablo Gregori and Salva Pons.
